Then the scheme would be pointless.
"Dispel their suspicions?" Little Devourer was puzzled again.

Seeing the confusion on Little Devourer's face, he explained, "That's right. Chi Xue wants us to think his actions were pointless. Then we'll conclude that our earlier deduction was wrong and assume he doesn't know the Enlightenment Sacred Tree intends to follow us."

"You're such a blockhead." Po Qiong couldn't help cursing. Then he explained, "Although Chi Xue, like Gu Ao, is trying to lure Ling Tian into accepting a challenge, you can deliberately lose. Then Gu Ao and the others will naturally think that brat Wu Dao won't follow you. But Chi Xue knows the truth. That will accomplish his goal perfectly."
"That's right. We can deliberately lose." Ling Tian nodded and chuckled. "Chi Xue is a sinister fellow. He must have anticipated that we'd do this, so everything he's done has been steering us toward it."
