If Ling Tian and Fairy Meng Shang really joined Fengyun Pavilion, Chi Xue couldn't achieve his goal with the experts he had brought along. Even the combined might of the entire Mo Family would struggle to stand against Fengyun Pavilion. That left him with only two paths:
The first was to let the entire God Realm know that the Enlightenment Sacred Tree was in Ling Tian's hands, then rally the God Realm's forces against Fengyun Pavilion. He could take advantage of the ensuing chaos to attack Ling Tian and the others and seize the Enlightenment Sacred Tree.
The second path was to rely on his own strength and challenge Ling Tian openly. Long Ling had told him that Fengyun Pavilion never restricted challenges from cultivators of the same rank, or even those a little higher than its disciples.
But Chi Xue knew he could never surpass Ling Tian in cultivation, and Fairy Meng Shang was far beyond him, too. He would find it difficult to defeat her, just as she would find it difficult to defeat him. So he would rather choose the first path. After all, chaos in the God Realm had little to do with him. He would simply be using someone else's blade to kill.
"Heh, exactly. We'll have a better chance if the entire God Realm falls into chaos," the Jade Devouring Sky Python said with a sinister grin.
"Like I said, those are only options if we confirm Ling Tian has joined Fengyun Pavilion. I won't do that unless there's no other choice." Chi Xue's voice turned grave. He looked into the distance. "For now, the most important thing is to find Ling Tian and confirm whether he's joined Fengyun Pavilion. I hope he hasn't."
The Jade Devouring Sky Python nodded and said no more.
