Although Sword Venerable's elite squad had quite a few members, they lacked a super expert like Feng Ying. As a result, they posed much less of a threat to the Outer Realm Cultivators. On top of that, they had no Ancient Divine Beast as fast as the Golden-Winged Heavenly Peng to carry them to safety, so they could not escape unscathed. They lost some men while launching sneak attacks on the Outer Realm Cultivators.
When the Outer Realm Cultivators went on to attack the various sects, Sword Venerable's group failed to gain any advantage by intervening. Both sides suffered casualties. As the elite squad grew smaller and smaller, they became less and less of a threat to the Outer Realm Cultivators. Even with the protection of their sect-guarding formations, they posed little danger to them.
With no other choice, they could only mobilize more people and use the sect-guarding formations of the various sects as barriers to face off against the Outer Realm Cultivators. This left them rather passive, though, since the Outer Realm Cultivators could choose their targets and withdraw in time.
For a time, the God Realm's side was at a disadvantage. If they had not been worried about their sects being attacked, and if they had not occasionally managed to destroy a large Universe Flying Saucer, they might have given up resisting the Outer Realm Cultivators altogether.
As time passed, the number of large Universe Flying Saucers dwindled, and the threat they posed to the God Realm gradually diminished. This was exactly what Feng Ying and the others wanted to see.
Since they held the advantage, the Outer Realm Cultivators did not let it go to waste. They continued attacking the various sects in the God Realm. Although they suffered some losses, they posed a greater threat
