Once they had deduced that Feng Lingzi and the others could easily defeat them—or even kill them—the expressions of Chi Xue and the others turned grim. Fortunately, they knew that given Feng Lingzi's status and pride, he wouldn't attack them lightly. As long as they didn't provoke him, there was little to fear. Besides, they were whetstones for Ling Tian and the others, so Feng Lingzi and his companions were even less likely to make a move against them.
Still, this deduction did little to put them at ease, because they realized the problem remained: Ling Tian would still stop them from obtaining the rune secret arts.

It wasn't particularly difficult for cultivators of the Nine Reversals Heavenly Technique to reach Quasi-Saint Stage Four or even Stage Five, or to attain the level of Feng Ying and Feng Lingzi. In other words, Ling Tian's side would have many experts of that caliber in the future, and even super experts at Quasi-Saint Stage Six or Seven. Chi Xue and his companions couldn't compete with them. Most of their cultivators would struggle to reach Quasi-Saint Stage Four, let alone Stage Five or higher.
Perhaps those with the God Devouring Body who cultivated the God Devouring Demon Technique, and the Ancient Divine Beasts who cultivated the Sacred Beast Seven-Style Severing Slash, could reach Quasi-Saint Stage Four or Five. But since the Beast Soul Realm, the God Devouring Bodies and Ancient Divine Beasts
