Seeing that Venerable Sword Saint and Chi Xue's group were about to arrive, Ling Tian took the Ancient Divine Beasts who had agreed to follow his arrangements, along with Feng Lingzi and the others, into his Small World. He didn't leave immediately, but continued hunting down cultivators from the major power alliance of the God Realm. This would not only let him kill more members of the alliance; more importantly, it would buy the other Ancient Divine Beasts some time to escape while he kept Venerable Sword Saint and the others occupied.
Once the Ancient Divine Beasts had escaped safely, they would have a chance to reunite with Ling Tian and the others later. That would be much safer, too.
"Ling Tian, Po Di and his people are continuing to destroy our Teleportation Formations," Feng Lingzi's voice sounded in Ling Tian's mind. "And they're even more troublesome than the cultivators from the major power alliance of the God Realm. When they see you coming, they'll retreat at once, so you won't be able to do anything to them. Then, once Venerable Sword Saint drives you away, they'll keep destroying our Teleportation Formations. They still have plenty of people, so they can destroy quite a few of ours. That's bad for you. Our remaining Teleportation Formations might not hold out until you break through."
"What's more, even if you break through to the Near-Saint Fourteenth Heaven, that doesn't mean you'll necessarily escape Venerable Sword Saint. Your strength is still far below his, after all. So we still need the Teleportation Formations," Feng Lingzi added.
Ling Tian knew all this, of course. Hearing Feng Lingzi say it made him realize what was on his mind. "Senior, are you thinking of going after Po Di and his people?"
"That's right," Feng Lingzi replied.
