Ling Tian and the others naturally hoped Chi Xue's group and Venerable Sword Saint would make a move to stop them. That way, they could improve their strength by engaging them—and, more importantly, keep Chi Xue's group and Venerable Sword Saint from improving theirs too quickly.
However, Chi Xue's group and Venerable Sword Saint showed no sign of intervening, much to Fairy Sword Ji and the others' disappointment.
"Chi Xue's group are clever, too. They already know that even if they move to stop us, they can't pose much of a threat. Instead, some of their cultivators might be killed by us, or at the very least, we'll keep them tied up so they can't improve their strength. That's the last thing they want, so of course they won't come stop us." Ling Tian sounded quite calm as he spoke. Clearly, he had expected this outcome all along.
"If they're not going to stop us, why don't we just press straight ahead and start setting up Teleportation Formations near them? That would save us a lot of time." Fairy Lei Ying looked at Ling Tian expectantly. "Destroying Chi Xue's group's Teleportation Formations one by one along the way is too slow. At this rate, it'll take quite a while to reach their location."
"We can't do that. It's too dangerous." Ling Tian shook his head. "The reason Chi Xue's group aren't stopping us is that we've set up quite a few Teleportation Formations we can use to retreat. But if we go straight to where they are, things will be different. We won't have any Teleportation Formations to fall back on, and given Venerable Sword Saint's strength, there's still a good chance he could kill me. After all, I'm at a huge disadvantage against him in a war of attrition."
