By now, they could no longer stop all the tribulation clouds from gathering again. Gradually, the clouds began to reform, and at this rate, it wouldn't be long before they returned to their original state. When that happened, powerful bolts of lightning would come crashing down. Aside from Ling Tian's group, every other cultivator would likely be struck dead by the lightning tribulation. Even Ling Tian and the others would have to withstand its bombardment. Of course, they wouldn't perish because of it; in this respect, they were very different from the cultivators in the other groups.
Moreover, things might well unfold as Po Qiong had analyzed: the Lord of the Universe would control the lightning, ensuring Ling Tian and the others stayed alive while subjecting them to the heaviest possible bombardment. Such tempering would naturally let them reap the greatest benefits. Thinking of this, Ling Tian and the others actually began to look forward to it. After all, undergoing the lightning tribulation's baptism might well give their strength a significant boost. At the very least, their physical strength and Nascent Souls would improve somewhat, which would benefit them one way or another.
