Chi Xue and the others entered Ling Tian's Small World to hide. They didn't do as he had previously asked and move Xiao Shi into their own Small World, but they weren't entirely unprepared, either. At the very least, they were confident they could burn their source power before Ling Tian made a move against them. With so many of them doing so at once—and with the Outer Realm Cultivators under their control self-destructing as well—even if they couldn't kill Ling Tian, they could still inflict grievous injuries on him.
In Chi Xue and the others' minds, that alone was enough to deter Ling Tian. After all, they knew that if Ling Tian suffered a serious injury, it would greatly delay his breakthrough to Sainthood, and that was the last thing he wanted.
In truth, Ling Tian had never planned to attack Chi Xue and the others. At least, as he had said before, he had no intention of doing so until he rescued their friends and family. He had only done this to test the trust between them.
As Ling Tian had said, even without Chi Xue and the others' help, he had a good chance of finding all the Saint-grade Heavenly Treasures and breaking through to Sainthood. He could even capture a large number of Outer Realm Cultivators to take their place in opposing the Lord of the Universe. But for now, Chi Xue and the others could play a more important role in the battle against the Lord of the Universe. There were many things they could do that Outer Realm Cultivators couldn't replace—for example, joining forces to use the God-Devouring Demon Domain, or combining the Myriad Sword Demon Extermination Grand Formation with the Buddha Kingdom World's formation.
