He directly announced that the first choice was for them to attack him right then and there. Many cultivators were eager to act, especially when they thought that with their strength, they could surely affect the Lord of the Universe to some degree, perhaps even kill him. That would undoubtedly greatly increase Ling Tian's chances of victory, or at the very least ease the pressure on him considerably.
Chi Xue and the others, however, stopped everyone from attacking at once and asked what the second choice was. At that point, Tu Gui deliberately asked whether the second choice was to stand by and watch while Ling Tian fought him. Clearly, he was still testing the Lord of the Universe.

At this, Chi Xue's expression tightened. He then sneered. "You say you aren't giving us two choices, but you still hope we'll stand by and watch. You're even using our friends and family as leverage to stop us from attacking. Truly, you live up to your name, Lord of the Universe."
