Although many cultivators chose to besiege the Demon God Forbidden Ground, they did not really believe the claim. In particular, after besieging the place for a long time without seeing any demon appear, they doubted it even more. It was only when great numbers of Nine Nether Nether Soldiers appeared—or, more precisely, when they scattered across the starfield and captured cultivators—that they finally believed it, especially after discovering that even when many cultivators joined forces, they could not pose any threat to the Nine Nether Nether Soldiers.
The lesson they had learned in blood finally made the starfield's cultivators realize that a powerful demon might well be lurking in the Demon God Forbidden Ground. By then, however, they were already powerless to deal with it. For a time, many cultivators regretted not strangling the demon in its cradle.
Of course, by then, many cultivators understood why Chi Xue and the others had not left the Demon God Forbidden Ground. Many believed Chi Xue and the others were confronting the demon there. In their minds, only by killing or capturing that demon could they stop the Nine Nether Nether Soldiers from ravaging the starfield. Once they thought it through, they understood why Chi Xue and the others had stayed.
It made sense. Many cultivators already knew that killing the Nine Nether Nether Soldiers would not solve the problem; they had to deal with the "demon" controlling them. So even if Chi Xue and the others left the Demon God Forbidden Ground to capture the Nine Nether Nether Soldiers, that would only treat the symptoms, not the root cause. The Nine Nether Nether Soldiers
