After their brief amazement, Ling Tian and Hua Min'er flew down on their swords and landed beside the cold pool. It lay beneath the mountain peak, in a deep ravine where few people ever ventured—a perfect place for them to practice. The pool was clear, and the waterfall crashed into it from above. In the distance, its surface shimmered with ripples; mist billowed over the water. As they drew closer, a bone-chilling cold washed over them, making them shiver. Strange rocks jutted up around the pool, like sentinels guarding it.
Ling Tian and Hua Min'er exchanged a smile, then slowly waded in. A bone-deep chill swept over them at once, and they both shuddered. They hurriedly circulated their cultivation arts, and only then did the cold ease a little.
