It made sense. The Lord of the Universe had been watching Ling Tian's Clone and the others set up their grand formations, so he surely knew the formations they were best at. If he set up one of his own, with the Demon God Forbidden Ground as its foundation, its power would be terrifying and pose a serious threat to Chi Xue and the others. In their eyes, they absolutely could not let the Lord of the Universe finish setting it up.
Ling Tian's Clone, however, was reluctant to attack the Demon God Forbidden Ground. Doing so might force the Lord of the Universe to launch the final battle, which would mean they could no longer buy time for Ling Tian's true body, Hua Min'er, and the others.
