The lightning tribulation continued to merge. Although Ling Tian had shot away quite a few bolts, there had originally been more than four hundred, so the remaining lightning was still immense. If it all merged into a single bolt, its power would still be more than Ling Tian could withstand.

It would likely shatter those blade rays in an instant. He had seen this when he watched Hu Yao undergo her tribulation, so he had to do everything he could to weaken the lightning.
The lightning tribulation merged faster than Ling Tian expected. Before long, only a dozen or so bolts remained. Each had formed from more than a dozen ordinary bolts and was as thick as a water barrel. From the terrifying aura radiating off them, Ling Tian knew he had only a slim chance of surviving beneath them—let alone if those dozen-plus bolts merged into one.

Seeing that the remaining lightning still surged with overwhelming force, Sky-Breaking Bow couldn't help wanting them to step in.
"Uh, there's no need." Ling Tian shook his head. He looked at the four Immortal Slaying Arrows hovering beside him, anticipation shining in his eyes. "Sky-Breaking Bow, the Immortal Slaying Arrows can withstand the lightning tribulation
