Nicolas Flamel, Doting on a Disciple Several Generations Down!
"Mm, Fleur, just call me Linley from now on!" Linley said with a smile and a nod. He was equally happy to have made a new friend at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
During the rest of the tour, Fleur became even more proactive and lively. Sometimes, before Linley even had to ask, she would take the initiative to introduce everything about the places they visited.
As a result, Linley's visit to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic was perfect. Everything went remarkably smoothly.
When it was time to part ways with Fleur, she was even somewhat reluctant to leave. The witches at her school were jealous of her strength and disliked her for being a Half-Veela. She truly did not want to stay with those witches from her school.
But Linley and Professor Green were different. They were completely unaffected by the special charm of her Half-Veela bloodline, which made Fleur feel that she was being treated as an equal.
"Goodbye, Fleur! Perhaps we'll meet again in three years!"
At the entrance to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic estate, Linley waved and spoke.
Linley was referring to the Triwizard Tournament that would take place during his fifth year. As one of the participating schools, Beauxbatons Academy of Magic would naturally send Fleur to visit Hogwarts Castle.
However, Fleur did not know that. She thought Linley would be traveling to France again in three years, so she was delighted and decided that she would definitely show Linley around the French wizarding world properly then.
"Next, we're going to our final stop—my teacher's residence."
Professor Green took hold of Linley's arm and said with a smile.
At those words, Linley's heart filled with excitement.
With a sharp crack, Linley and Professor Green appeared in an unfamiliar estate.
The estate was vast beyond measure, seemingly absent from all Muggle maps. At its very center stood a short, old cottage.
"Teacher, I'm back!"
Professor Green lightly tapped a metal block resembling a microphone beside the cottage door with his Wand. After it let out a beep, he spoke to it.
Soon, the cottage door opened.
However, it was not Professor Green's teacher, Nicolas Flamel, who opened it, but a humanoid robot.
The robot made a welcoming gesture and led the two of them into the cottage.
Upon entering, the first thing Linley saw was a photograph of a young man and woman on the counter. If he was not mistaken, they were Nicolas Flamel and Madame Perenelle Flamel from six hundred years ago.
After walking a few more steps inside, Linley saw a skinny old man sitting on the cottage sofa, with an old woman whose hair had fallen out completely beside him.
These two elders were the legendary Mr. and Mrs. LeMay.
Clearly, while the "immortality" brought by the Philosopher's Stone had allowed them to live for over six hundred years, it had not granted them eternal youth. Their bodies had grown increasingly frail under the erosion of time, plagued by illness and pain.
Looking at the two elders, who seemed as though even a slight movement might break their bones, Linley seemed to understand why the old man would decide to have Professor Dumbledore destroy the Philosopher's Stone a year later.
"Teacher!" Professor Green bowed to Nicolas Flamel, then stepped forward to help the old man to his feet.
Linley stepped forward as well and bowed to the two elders. "Grandmaster, Grandmistress, hello! I'm Linley Roll, Teacher Green's student!"
Upon hearing Linley's words, Mr. LeMay, who had been wondering about Linley's identity, immediately revealed a gratified smile. His gaze became much kinder.
"Who would have thought that little Valison had reached the age to take on a student! Come, come, Linley, sit down quickly. Let your Grandmaster have a good look at you!"
Nicolas Flamel said cheerfully as he beckoned Linley over.
Ever since that incident during Grindelwald's rampage, his disciple Valison Green had remained despondent. Even his eyes had been hollow. Now that Valison had pulled himself together and even accepted his own student, how could the old man not feel gratified?!
Naturally, Linley would not refuse the old man's kindness. He obediently sat down beside him.
Nicholas held Linley's hand and asked warmly, like an elder of his own family, "Linley, how have your Alchemy studies been lately? I wonder whether Valison has taught you properly."
Linley told Nicholas about his progress in Alchemy.
Nicholas nodded slightly and tightened his grip on Linley's hand. Linley felt a strange current of magic enter his body through the old man's hand.
Linley did not struggle. Instead, he calmly allowed the magic to flow throughout his body.
"I see... It seems your magical power has been growing far faster than that of your peers. Valison truly lacks experience!" Nicolas Flamel said softly. "Linley, I believe that with your current magical reserves, you are already capable of beginning to learn Spell Alchemy!"
Linley's face lit up with delight.
According to Professor Green's original estimate, Linley would not have been able to begin learning Spell Alchemy for another three months.
"Linley, how about I teach you in your teacher's place for the next half month?" Nicholas said kindly. There were still more than half a month before Hogwarts began. If Linley reserved seven days to buy textbooks for the new term and spend time with his family, he could still stay at Nicolas Flamel's estate for half a month.
Linley nodded. "As you say, Grandmaster!"
Thus, Linley and Professor Green settled down at Nicolas Flamel's estate.
Though Nicolas Flamel's cottage looked small and cramped, that was merely the LeMay couple's way of life. Having grown accustomed to frugality, they did not enjoy extravagant surroundings.
Even so, after living for over six hundred years, the gifts and properties bestowed upon the LeMay couple by great figures of every era were enough to build dozens of castles on this estate, not to mention the savings they had accumulated as alchemists over those six centuries.
Nicholas generously arranged a small villa for both Linley and Professor Green within the estate. Every morning at eight, Linley was required to visit Nicholas's cottage for instruction.
Though Nicholas now looked like a bag of bones who could be blown over by a gust of wind, his magical strength was not the slightest bit inferior to Professor Dumbledore's. More than three hundred years ago, he had already reached the realm of a Demon King level wizard.
Even Professor Green's ability to conjure Alchemy Formations out of thin air had been personally demonstrated and taught by Nicholas!
After learning that Linley was curious about this ability, Nicholas displayed the doting nature of an elder several generations removed. With a wave of his Wand, he conjured dozens of Alchemy Formations around himself. The formations shot golden starlight across the sky, transforming into an endless meteor shower that streaked across the horizon at night.
This bizarre scene astonished countless Muggles outside, but no one could have imagined that this sight, comparable to a miracle, was merely a little spell casually cast by an old man doting on a disciple several generations down!
