When Linley sat down in the seat Malfoy had saved for him, the Quidditch match had already begun.
The Gryffindor and Slytherin Quidditch players gathered around Madam Hooch, who was serving as referee. After listening to her reminders, they all mounted their Flying Broomsticks.
Harry swung himself onto his Nimbus 2000. Among all the brooms in the stadium, his Nimbus 2000 was the best.
Fifteen Flying Broomsticks soared into the air, spreading out across the Quidditch pitch.
"The Quaffle is immediately snatched by Gryffindor's Angelina Johnson! What an outstanding Chaser that girl is, and she's quite charming too..."
Lee Jordan, the Gryffindor student serving as commentator, stood in the commentary box and shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Jordan!"
Professor McGonagall, standing beside Lee Jordan, immediately barked at him.
"Sorry, Professor." Lee Jordan shrank back before resuming his usual commentary. "She's racing along up there—what a lovely pass, over to Alicia Spinnet!"
"She was a talent Oliver Wood spotted with his sharp eye. Last year, she was only a reserve player... The ball goes back to Johnson, and then... Oh no! Slytherin has stolen the Quaffle! Slytherin captain Marcus Flint has it and is speeding away! Flint is soaring up there like an eagle... He's going to score... No! Gryffindor's Keeper, Wood, pulls off a brilliant move and intercepts the ball!"
Lee Jordan commentated with all his might, and the atmosphere in the stands grew ever more fervent beneath his passionate narration.
At that moment, Gryffindor Chaser Katie Bell held the Quaffle. She darted nimbly around Flint, trying to find an opening to shoot.
But just then, a Bludger struck Katie Bell in the back of the head. The Quaffle slipped from her hands and was stolen by Slytherin's Adrian Pucey. Adrian Pucey charged toward the goalposts, only to
