The cabin on the lower deck was still small and dim. Rust streaked the walls just as it had a year ago. His mother lay on the broken bed, clutching Peter tightly and ignoring the noisy commotion outside.

A monster was coming. A monster was coming to take away her last child.

His mother gently kissed the boy's forehead with her soft lips.

"Peter, your father and I gave you your name for a reason. It means 'rock.' Your father and I hoped you'd be as steadfast as a rock and grow into an honest boy."

His mother's thin fingers caressed Peter's face. She continued,

"Remember, Peter, you're a child of the Kallasis family. You mustn't steal or rob, and you mustn't lie."

Peter knew he shouldn't deceive his mother, but to keep her from crying, he nodded to show he understood.

Then—bang! Bang! Bang! Someone pounded hard on the door. It was less a knock than a battering. Bang! At last, the people outside lost patience.

The door swung open. A group of people bearing the Eight-Pointed Star on their chests and foreheads barged in roughly, accompanied by a harsh shout!

"The Iron Warriors Legion is taking this boy. You're coming with us. Now."

His mother naturally refused. She clung desperately to her last child, her last precious treasure.

The woman spoke, weak but resolute:

"No. Olympia has given them enough."

But a Chaos-believing Sailor at the door charged in and kicked the woman viciously. He seized the boy's left hand and tried to wrench him away from her.

"Damn it, you filthy bitch. I took care of your business just two days ago. Otherwise, how would you have anything to eat—"
