"I think I understand the reason now."

Kyle gazed at the enemy base below the mountain and assessed, "The intelligence we got from the sheepskin map, including the locations of these German camps, was all real. But the Nazis left themselves a safeguard in the code."

Fury picked up the thought, looking contemplative. "So that's it. They switched the coded information about the camp sizes—"

"Exactly." Kyle nodded.

Of the five German enemy camps, only one was a large base, three were medium-sized camps, and one was a small transit camp.

The Germans had switched the coded information for the large base and the small transit camp. It had to be said, that was a very seasoned move.

Fury gave a bitter smile. "In other words, the enemy base we're facing now was originally supposed to be assaulted by the colonel with more than five units. And the target the colonel is currently leading his troops toward is the small camp we were meant to deal with."

"There's no use complaining now." Kyle asked coldly, "Fury, you have more battlefield experience than I do. What do you think we should do in this situation?"

Fury furrowed his brow, his single eye fixed on the distant enemy base. After thinking for a moment, he said unwillingly, "Obviously, we can only abandon the assault mission. With a force of barely a hundred men, even if we hold the advantage of surprise, we'd still just be throwing our lives away."

Kyle continued, "Can't we use the radio we brought to contact the colonel?"

"No." Fury shook his head and answered without hesitation, "We're too close to the enemy base. At this distance, using the radio would make it easy for the enemy to intercept the signal. Besides, there isn't much time left before the other units launch their assaults. Once our forces attack the other four enemy camps, this large base will get word of it."

Kyle said expressionlessly, "So by conventional combat judgment, we can only abandon the assault mission, right?"

"Fury, have you forgotten? We promised our commanding officer that we would complete the assault mission!"

"But—" Fury looked troubled.

"No buts!" Kyle cut him off and continued, "If we give up this chance to assault the large base now, it'll be difficult to find another opportunity like this once the enemy is on guard!"

Fury seemed to realize something. He stared at Kyle in surprise, then said sternly, "Quit beating around the bush. You're saying this because you've thought of something, haven't you?"

"As expected, I can't hide it from you. But this isn't an idea. It's a battle plan." Kyle smiled faintly and leaned over to whisper a few words into Fury's ear.

When Fury finished listening, he stared at Kyle as though he were looking at a madman and said with a tremble, "Infiltrate the base alone? Are you crazy? Do you have a death wish?"

Kyle shrugged and said seriously, "I'm not crazy. At this point, if we want to complete the assault mission, this is the only way to take a risk and try. If I can infiltrate the enemy base and destroy its defensive measures, then with our hundred-man force attacking from outside, we still have a chance of success."

"Infiltrating a large base like that won't be so easy." Fury shook his head.

"That's my concern. I only need your approval and support." Kyle said coldly.

Fury fell silent. After staring directly at Kyle for a while, he spoke slowly but firmly. "Honestly, I have no reason to stop you. After all, no one wants to give up before the mission even begins. So go ahead and try. But let me make this clear first: if you fail, I'll immediately lead the troops in retreat."

"Don't worry. I've never put my life in someone else's hands."

Leaving those words behind, Kyle immediately charged down the slope. Using the incline to pick up speed, his figure soon vanished into the darkness at the foot of the mountain.

"What a madman." Fury sighed.

A single soldier heading straight for a large base was undoubtedly suicidal. Yet for some reason, Kyle gave him a feeling of absolute confidence.

Perhaps it was precisely that strange feeling that made Fury agree to such an extremely risky plan.

After leaving the group, Kyle first removed his American Combat Suit in the forest at the foot of the mountain. He selected a suitable German Soldier Combat Set from Card Space and changed into it.

Kyle had not suggested infiltrating the enemy base alone to throw his life away. He had sufficient confidence in his ability to protect himself.

That confidence came from the blue card he had drawn through sacrifice today!

Stealth:

Transform into a Nightcrawler lurking in dark shadows, erase your presence, and reduce your sense of existence;

While in Stealth, enemies cannot see you beyond a certain visual distance of ten meters. Within ten meters, they can see a translucent silhouette, and only within five meters can they see you normally.

At night, gain Nightcrawler's night vision ability within one hundred meters. The concealment effect doubles, and movement speed increases.

Note: After the Nightcrawler actively launches an attack, the Stealth state is removed and cannot be entered again for ten seconds.

The Nightcrawler can forcibly teleport away instantly within a range of one kilometer. Activation cooldown: 24H.

Blue Ability Card.

This was a blue-quality Ability Card. Just as he had judged before, it far surpassed the professional or mastery levels humans could attain and belonged to the realm of superpowers!

With the Stealth Card, the individual combat strength Kyle could now unleash could no longer be defined within the limits of human ability.

"Stealth, begin!"

Kyle silently recited the words in his heart. His eyes turned dark crimson, and his vision within a hundred meters became instantly clear in the night. At the same time, his body seemed to be shrouded in mist, flickering in and out of sight beneath the darkness.

Kyle was still considering how to infiltrate the base when two beams of light from a hundred meters behind him faintly pierced the wilderness night. A German military vehicle was slowly heading toward the base's main gate.

Supply truck? Kyle's heart stirred. Maintaining Stealth, he crept toward the military vehicle.

Soft, rapid footsteps quietly echoed across the deserted plain.

Kyle infiltrated to the front side of the military vehicle. Seeing its front end about to ram into him, he burst forward, exposing himself first.

"Wah?"

The german soldier driving the vehicle had been dozing off. When he suddenly saw a figure dart out in front of the seemingly empty road, every hair on his body stood on end. He instinctively slammed on the brakes.

His mouth fell open, but before he could utter a word, a flash of blade light thrust in through the window, instantly erasing both his words and his life.

Stealth, assassination, disposing of the body—the entire sequence flowed as smoothly as if he had rehearsed it many times.

The military vehicle stalled to a stop. Kyle coldly dragged the german soldier with the slit throat out of the driver's seat. Like defeating monsters for equipment in an online game, several Item Cards in a drawable state appeared over the corpse on the ground.

German Soldier ID, German Soldier Combat Set, German Pistol...

A short while later.

The military vehicle started up again and drove toward the main gate of the German base ahead.
