Boom! Boom!
The pirate ship opened fire as soon as it drew close. Through a billow of white smoke, a barrage of cannonballs rained down on the Flaming Beauty.
The deck shattered. Several unlucky sailors were struck by solid shot in an instant, flesh and blood flying as they met grisly deaths.
"Damn it!"
Donald tightened his grip on his musket.
It had been proven: merchant ships and pirate ships were worlds apart. Before these ruthless pirates, the Flaming Beauty was like a lone little girl, left to suffer the ravages of a hulking brute.
Bang!
Another deafening boom rang out. A chain shot flew in and struck the Flaming Beauty's mainmast squarely.
Donald had seen trouble coming and jumped down early, but he still let out a groan when he saw the mast split in two.
At this point, the Flaming Beauty could no longer escape the pirates' clutches. They would have to fight hand to hand.
"Argh!"
The pirate ship drew closer, pulling alongside the Flaming Beauty.
The pirates howled as they swung grappling hooks and clambered onto the merchant ship's deck, beginning the bloodiest kind of boarding battle.
"Charge with me!"
The merchant ship's Charge Captain had no choice but to lead the way. He rushed forward with a large group of sailors and fighters to meet the enemy.
Bang! Bang!
Donald's palms were slick with sweat. He hid behind cover and used his musket to put a bullet through a pirate's head.
Anyone hoping to make a living at sea needed a certain degree of strength. As an experienced Navigator, Donald was no stranger to fighting pirates.
But this time, seeing how fierce and numerous they were, Donald's heart sank.
*There are too many of them, and they're all seasoned fighters. This definitely isn't an ordinary
