"Fire!"

There was no doubt that the Sun had taken a huge risk by charging into the enemy formation alone during a naval battle. To put it bluntly, it was no different from courting death.

The Mermaid Pirate Group reacted at once and concentrated their fire on the Sun.

In a matter of moments, more than a hundred cannonballs struck the hull, bursting into clusters of sparks.

Rumble!

The cannons roared outside, yet the ship's hull didn't so much as tremble.

Fang Yuan remained calm, studying the goblin display only a commander could see:

'Under fire. Activating antimatter force-field defenses!'

'Cannon fire intensity assessment for this round: 1! Evaluation: Even without any defenses, it would take a full day of bombardment to breach this vessel's armor!'

'Mechanical Engineers on standby. Ready to deploy and repair the hull!'

'Under attack. Main guns and secondary guns ready. Commander, should we return fire?'

Clearly, though the barrage was fierce, even an ordinary steam ironclad might have been able to withstand it. For the Sun, it was child's play.

"Return fire!"

Fang Yuan looked at the pirate ships beside them and waved his hand.

'Secondary guns ready. Automatic targeting engaged. Fire!'

Amid the mechanical clatter, the Sun's secondary guns began to thunder.

Two balls of fire erupted across the sea.

And the Sun's guns came equipped with all kinds of targeting aids, making them deadly accurate. After just one round of fire, at least ten of the pirate ships that had been charging in, eager to take advantage, were blown
