Da Bao gripped the wooden skewer in his left claw and tore into the meat with his sharp beak.
Mercer laughed at the sight. As expected of his bird—it knew how to look after him.
"Mercer, grilled kidneys are awful. They smell so gamey. How can he eat those?"
Perona walked beside Mercer, eating a delicious five-layer, five-color ice cream cone. The cold made her scrunch up her face, but she was enjoying it too much to stop.
