The moon hung high in the sky, its gentle radiance casting a peaceful and serene atmosphere over the night. Moonlight dappled the branches of trees, creating scattered shadows that resembled broken strips hanging from the limbs.
In the grand courtyard of the Xiao Family, Xiao Xun'er stood by the window, gazing up at the bright moon. She held a lollipop, elegantly sticking out her tongue to take a lick. Instantly, a sweet and pure energy seeped into her gums, flowed into her blood vessels, and finally nourished her entire body with the circulating blood.
"It's truly magical. It's just a lollipop, yet it can actually enhance Fighting Qi. Elder Ling, have you ever heard of such a thing?" Xiao Xun'er spoke to the empty air, though no one was there.
"Miss, this old servant has never heard of such a matter. Fighters at the Fighting Qi stage have extremely fragile bloodlines and cannot withstand the medicinal power of any pill. At the very least, this old servant has never heard of any Alchemist who could refine a pill that rapidly increases the cultivation of the Fighting Qi stage."
A hoarse, aged voice drifted into the room like a wisp of light wind.
For humans to cultivate, they must first refine their bodies. The body refinement stage on the Dou Qi Continent is divided into nine stages, namely Fighting Qi, First Stage to Ninth Stage. After the Ninth Stage, one must condense a Fighting Qi Vortex to become a true Fighter.
Because human bloodlines are very fragile and cannot withstand the impact of a pill's medicinal power, Fighters in the Fighting Qi stage cultivate very slowly. If one can condense a Fighting Qi Vortex within their body by the age of eleven, they can already be considered a one-in-a-million genius. Many people, even by the age of sixteen, are still unable to condense a Fighting Qi Vortex.
To put it this way, the admission requirement for the renowned Jia Nan Academy on the Dou Qi Continent is to possess Fighting Qi, Seventh Stage cultivation by adulthood. Yet, this single rule blocks hundreds of millions of cultivators. This is enough to show how difficult it is to improve one's cultivation in the Fighting Qi stage.
"What is Han Hun's background that he possesses such a wondrous item?" Xiao Xun'er (Gu Xun'er) examined the lollipop in her hand. Even the powerful Ancient Clan did not possess such a treasure. Xiao Xun'er was filled with curiosity about Hun Han's identity.
The lollipop in Xiao Xun'er's hand was, of course, a gift from Hun Han. She had a small box of these lollipops, enough to elevate her cultivation to Fighting Qi, Seventh Stage in a short period.
"Miss, shall this old servant track him and find out his background?" the aged voice drifted into the room again. Ling Ying was also full of curiosity about Hun Han's identity.
"Let's not. As friends, sincerity is the most important thing!" Xiao Xun'er refused without much thought.
"Actually, Miss, I do have a bold guess about his identity!" After a brief silence, the aged voice entered the room again.
"Elder Ling, what have you deduced?" Xiao Xun'er asked curiously.
"Miss, have you ever heard of the Primordial Sacred Body?"
"Primordial Sacred Body?"
"Yes, there was once a Ninth Grade Alchemist born on the continent. She not only founded the Pill Tower and possessed extraordinary alchemy skills but was also deeply fascinated by ancient matters. The Primordial Sacred Body was one of her research subjects."
"Are you implying that Han Hun is that person's experimental subject?" Xiao Xun'er asked in surprise.
"This old servant cannot be certain, but at the very least, he definitely has some connection to that person. Rumor has it that person had an ambiguous relationship with Hun Tiandi. This old servant dares to boldly speculate that your Han Hun might not be surnamed Han, but rather Hun!" the aged voice echoed in the room.
If Ling Ying didn't have a friend who enjoyed collecting gossip about powerful individuals, he wouldn't have heard about these matters or known them so clearly.
"Not surnamed Han, but Hun. Han Hun, Hun Han. He's playing word games with me!"
A triumphant glint of having seen through everything flickered in Xiao Xun'er's eyes. She smiled faintly, "I suppose this is what he wants me to forgive him for!"
"Miss, these are merely my speculations. Whether they are true or not can only be confirmed after my friend has met him. Today, on the official road, this subordinate did not act because I sensed his physique was very peculiar. Please forgive me, Miss."
"Hmm. Someone is coming!"
Xiao Xun'er's gaze, through the window, caught sight of a dark figure approaching.
"Miss, shall I drive him away?"
"Let's wait and see. Perhaps the other party isn't here for me, just passing by."
Xiao Xun'er instructed, but the short, dark figure walked directly towards her.
Seeing this, Xiao Xun'er lay down on the bed. With a creak, the door was gently pushed open.
Suddenly, Xiao Xun'er remembered the events of the day. She thought to herself, Could I have attracted someone's attention?
Hun Han had told Xiao Xun'er that Wutan City had not been peaceful lately. Every night, around midnight, a short person would sneak into people's rooms, especially those of women, and particularly into the rooms of young girls like herself.
Seeing this, Xiao Xun'er's heart tightened. She narrowed her eyes and secretly observed the intruder. The room was very dim, and she could only vaguely discern from the figure's silhouette that it was a male.
The figure crept to Xiao Xun'er's bedside. Unaware that Xiao Xun'er was still awake, he gently waved his hand in front of her eyes. Seeing no reaction, he then reached out with both hands.
Xiao Xun'er could no longer hold back. She lifted her leg and kicked the intruder, sending him stumbling back several steps. Her kick sent him sprawling onto the floor, staring up at Xiao Xun'er, who had now sat up on the bed, with a bewildered and astonished expression.
"You pervert! Trying to molest a little girl, you deserve a beating!" Xiao Xun'er was furious. Her body had almost been touched by someone. When she left, Gu Yuan had told her that a woman's body should not be touched by a man, or she would have children.
Thinking of this, Xiao Xun'er's anger surged. She began kicking the bewildered figure repeatedly.
"Ah! Stop hitting me, stop! It's me, it's me! Ow! Where are you kicking me? Aow Chi, it hurts so much!"
The figure clutched his lower body with both hands, his face contorted in pain, groaning. He retreated all the way to the windowsill, tears streaming down his face from the agony.
"You're... Xiao Yan? Uncle Xiao's son?" Xiao Xun'er looked at Xiao Yan in disbelief. In the moonlight filtering into the room, she could clearly see the intruder's appearance.
"Yes, I am Xiao Yan," the figure replied.
"So, that's who Brother Hun Han was talking about!" Xiao Xun'er put her hands on her hips and glared at Xiao Yan.
"Who?" Xiao Yan asked, confused.
"I'm asking you, why are you in my room late at night instead of sleeping?" Xiao Xun'er demanded.
"I... I came to use my Fighting Qi to warm your meridians," Xiao Yan stammered as an explanation.
"Warm your meridians? Who told you that you could use Fighting Qi to warm meridians?" Xiao Xun'er asked.
"What, can't Fighting Qi warm a person's meridians?" Xiao Yan retorted.
"You, finding an excuse to do bad things," Xiao Xun'er scoffed.
"I really came to warm your meridians," Xiao Yan insisted again.
"Nonsense. We only met today. There are so many women in the Xiao Family, why would you specifically want to warm my meridians? Scram! For Uncle Xiao Zhan's sake, I'll let you off today. If there's a next time, I'll kick you again!"
Meanwhile, in a room hundreds of meters away, a system voice sounded.
"Ding dong!"
"Sign-in time has arrived, do you wish to sign in?"
