Background / History
Yagami Taichi originally believed himself to be the only version of himself without a younger sister. Through the Chat Group, he learned that other Yagami Taichis generally had companions and a sister named Hikari; he later obtained coordinates for a parallel-world “Yagami Hikari Who Lost Her Brother.” 25 35
Taichi travelled to a 2012 Earth to find her, worrying that the frequent chaos he witnessed there might endanger her living conditions. 94 By the time of their reunion, their combined development had begun to show unusual results: Hikari steadily moved closer to the nature of Homeostasis and the World Tree, while Taichi showed signs of forming the Royal Knights. 124
Following Taichi’s unsuccessful attempt to master the Digital World’s origin and Digital Power, Hikari seized its root authority and became the Light and will of the Digital World. Taichi recognized that the Digital Cosmic Truth suited her far more naturally than it suited him. 517
