Tanzaku Street.
In a nondescript little tavern, at a table in the corner.
Tsunade, with her blonde hair in twin tails and her curvaceous figure, had a flush on her cheeks. She looked at Jiraiya with a faint, knowing smile.
"So... you want me to return to the village and become the Fifth Hokage?"
Tsunade drained her cup, then slammed it down on the table with a thud.
"Jiraiya, has toad oil clogged your brain? I lost interest in becoming Hokage a long time ago!"
"Tsunade, this time it's different!"
Jiraiya dropped his playful act. "Sarutobi-sensei died in battle. The village is leaderless, beset by troubles within and threats from without."
"You're the First Hokage's granddaughter and one of the Sannin. Your reputation, strength, and bloodline are more than enough to win people over."
"There's no one more suitable in Konoha right now!"
"Let whoever wants the job take it. Don't ask me. Only an idiot would want to be Hokage!"
Tsunade turned away and poured herself another drink. "Besides, I'm not even a Konoha ninja anymore!"
Jiraiya sighed. He knew that appealing to her feelings and reasoning with her wouldn't work, so he glanced around and tried another tack.
"What if I told you the village had someone who could use the First Hokage's Wood Release? Wouldn't you want to go back and see for yourself?"
"What?!"
Tsunade paused while pouring, spilling some of the liquor.
Surprise filled her beautiful, slightly tipsy eyes.
"Explain yourself! Wood Release? How... how is that possible?"
"Other than Grandfather..."
"No one in the Senju Clan has awakened that power in ages!"
"Or did Orochimaru conduct another one of his disgusting human experiments?"
Tsunade's reaction was even stronger than Jiraiya had expected.
After all...
To her, Wood Release wasn't merely a powerful Kekkei Genkai.
