As soon as the Black Shadow Unit entered the village, they noticed something was wrong.
"These figures are suspicious." The captain of the left squad stopped. "Their chakra signatures are too weak."
"Shadow Clones?" another member guessed.
"They're not just Shadow Clones." The captain's eyes glinted red in the darkness. "There are also illusions and mirages created with Ice Release."
Just then, a Shadow Clone of Naruto leaped down from a rooftop.
"Rasengan!"
A blue ball of chakra shot straight toward a member of the Black Shadow Unit.
"Pathetic trick." The member sneered and casually waved a hand, dispersing the Shadow Clone.
But immediately afterward, more Shadow Clones poured in from every direction.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Dozens of Narutos attacked at once, unleashing a storm of Rasengan, shuriken, and taijutsu strikes.
"Annoying mosquitoes," the captain of the Black Shadow Unit said impatiently. "Get rid of this trash."
Three members of the Black Shadow Unit attacked at the same time, and powerful ninjutsu instantly wiped out a huge swath of Shadow Clones.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
"Lightning Style: Raikiri!"
"Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"
The combined assault of three different chakra natures was astonishingly powerful.
But as soon as the Shadow Clones were cleared away, a new wave appeared.
"How many Shadow Clones can this brat make?" one member grumbled, growing irritated.
"Focus on the fight!" the captain snapped. "Don't let these little tricks get to you!"
On the other side, Sasuke was fighting the right squad.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Sage Fire!"
Dozens of fireballs shot toward the members of the Black Shadow Unit.
"Water Style: Water Prison Wall!" A member of the Black Shadow Unit defended with ease.
But just as the water mist rose, Sasuke disappeared.
"A genjutsu?" The member warily scanned the area.
"Over here!"
