"120," Kawaki said coldly. "Plus whatever's in that big tank, and we'll be busy for a while."
"The thing in that tank is alive." Kiyomi stared fixedly at the container. "It's calling my name."
Just then, the figure inside the container suddenly opened its eyes. They weren't human eyes, but two golden Rinnegan. They were replicas, but the pressure they gave off was still suffocating.
"You've finally come... my other half."
The voice didn't travel through the air. It exploded directly inside everyone's minds.
The monsters around them awoke in an instant, letting out deafening roars.
"Move!" Sasuke's voice came from behind them.
The battle erupted in the narrow Underground Space.
Boruto's Shadow Clones darted through the horde, using the terrain to sow confusion. Each of Sarada's Monster Strength punches shattered the bones of a monster. Mitsuki's Lightning Snake was at its most effective on the flooded ground, electricity leaping through the horde.
But there were simply too many monsters.
Kiyomi ignored the grunts. She had only one target—the tank.
She leaped off a monster's head and thrust the light blade in her hand at the glass container.
Clang!
A sharp sound rang out. The light blade left a white mark on the glass, but failed to pierce it.
"It's no use." The voice echoed in their minds again. "This is the Absolute Defense Shennong left behind. Unless you're willing... to become one with me."
The liquid inside the container began to boil. Countless tubes extended from its base, reaching for Kiyomi like tentacles.
"Like I'd ever merge with a specimen pickled in Formalin!" Kiyomi twisted her body in midair, narrowly dodging a tentacle's thrust.
"Watch your back!" Kawaki shouted.
A tentacle silently wound around behind Kiyomi and suddenly coiled around her ankle.
Kiyomi was hurled hard against the wall.
