"Bulma, I remember you still have the Earth Dragon Balls with you, right?" Gran asked.

Early in the story, Porunga could only revive one person at a time. To revive all those dead Namekians, he would need Earth's Dragon God as well.

"Yes."

Bulma took the small pouch from her waist. Opening it, she said dejectedly, "But they've all turned to stone."

"That's fine. Once Piccolo is revived, the Earth Dragon Balls will be restored as well."

"That's great!"

Excited, Bulma placed the Earth Dragon Balls beside the Namekian Dragon Balls.

Gran looked at Dende. "Little one, I'll leave it to you."

"Yes, Lord Gran!"

Dende knew Gran's identity. He nodded respectfully, then walked over to the Namekian Dragon Balls.

Everyone's eyes focused on him as Dende began chanting words in a language none of them understood.

They knew this must be the Namekian language Lord Gran had mentioned.

The atmosphere grew somewhat tense.

Suddenly!

Rumble—!

The sky and earth abruptly lost their color as golden light burst from the Namekian Dragon Balls.

"It's here!"

Bulma, Little Gohan, and the others all held their breath.

At the sight, memories from Gran's past surfaced once more. He had used the Namekian Dragon Balls as a child, and because of that, he had made a promise to the Grand Elder.

Using the Grand Elder's Dragon Balls to fulfill my promise to the Grand Elder... that feels a little like getting something for free. Gran rubbed his chin, wondering whether he should compensate the Grand Elder further.
