Background / History

Gran was a young Saiyan survivor spared by Frieza alongside Prince Vegeta. His unusual knowledge of divine figures, Planet Yardrat, and historical events led Beerus and Whis to question whether he possessed information beyond that of an ordinary Saiyan. Gran attributed much of this knowledge to a Saiyan History Book. 10 22

Whis accepted Gran as a student in the God of Destruction Realm. His first major trial was a month-long survival exercise in the Mysterious Space, where extreme weather, crushing gravity, hunger, exhaustion, and stronger pursuing beasts forced him to master his Ki completely. 7

Beerus later offered Gran the position of Universe 7's Candidate God of Destruction after witnessing his mental talent, advanced Dimension, and instinctive evasion of a surprise attack.
