Jennifer looked over the villa's lavish decor, a hint of envy in her eyes. Though she was the flower of Round Clam Town High School, who knew she came from an ordinary divorced family, painstakingly maintaining an appearance of glamour.
The moment she showed weakness or something went wrong, those little bitches and so-called good sisters would be the first to step forward and stomp on her.
It wasn't as if none of her suitors were rich second-generation heirs, but compared to Li Dan, they were completely outclassed. Not to mention his family even had a European-style castle.
Of course, those were external factors. The main reason was that Li Dan himself was handsome and powerful. It wasn't as though school bullies had never tried to cause trouble for him, but no matter how many people they brought, they usually ended up kneeling and begging for mercy.

"Something unusual? Why are you suddenly asking that?" Jennifer said.
Li Dan did not beat around the bush. "Because I suspect a demon or evil spirit has set its sights on you."
Jennifer looked as though she had heard a joke. She raised a hand to caress Li Dan's cheek and looked at him seriously.
"Darling, are you joking? Or did you run into terrorists during that expedition and get scared by them? Come on, demons and evil spirits aren't real. If you're scared, I'll stay with you, okay?"
"I'm not joking." Li Dan knocked Jennifer's hand away, his expression stern and serious. He had asked her a question, yet this girl was trying to comfort him instead. There was definitely something wrong with her thought process.
Jennifer said helplessly, "All right, let me think... There do seem to have been a few strange things. Sometimes I clearly remember locking the door, but when I wake up, it's suddenly unlocked."
"Sometimes the TV turns on by itself in the middle of the night. But that doesn't necessarily mean anything, does it? It's a little strange, though."
Jennifer shrugged, still not thinking much of it. All those things could be explained as accidents. Maybe she had simply forgotten to lock the door?
Hearing that, Li Dan opened the computer on the coffee table, logged onto a website discussing horror, and searched for signs of an evil invasion.
These were several conclusions reached by a university professor who studied supernatural incidents, reposted onto the site by horror enthusiasts.
What the professor described were abnormal phenomena.
In other words, the signs commonly known as being invaded by demons, evil forces, or ghosts.
1. Environmental abnormalities: Objects in the home moved for no reason, sudden temperature changes, appliances switching on or off abnormally, especially unexplained noises or temperature shifts when alone.
2. Physical abnormalities: Unexplained bruises suddenly appearing on the skin the next day, abnormal body temperature, frequent illness, or intense discomfort toward certain smells.
3. Dream abnormalities: Such as frequent nightmares, horrifying scenes appearing in dreams, or even "sleep paralysis."
Aside from those three points, there were also mental and physical symptoms, such as becoming irritable, frequently suffering from insomnia, feeling mentally dazed, and experiencing self-doubt.
Or constantly talking to oneself and conversing with the air.
Don't doubt it. The demon has already reached a certain stage of invasion. Leave as soon as possible and report it to the church.

The reason Li Dan did not know much was that he had only heard friends talk about it. If someone asked him to watch that found-footage film alone, he would honestly be a little afraid. It was simply too realistic and terrifying, enough to cause physical discomfort.
But now, he planned to find an opportunity to meet that professor.

Jennifer did not think that much about it. It was broad daylight, and Li Dan was there. Since she had not seen anything herself, naturally she did not believe it.
"Darling, what can this video prove? Plenty of movies are scarier than this. A transparent thread outside the frame could create the same effect. Stop being so paranoid, okay?"
Li Dan really wanted to summon the evil Wendigo to scare Jennifer, but after thinking it over, he decided against it. There was no need.
"Since you don't believe me, then there's nothing left for us to talk about."
"No, we still have plenty to talk about."
"Like what?"
Jennifer moved the pillow away from Li Dan's chest, knelt on the sofa with one leg on either side of him, and looked down at Li Dan. "For example, our relationship."
Li Dan fell silent for a moment before saying, "Take me to your house."
Based on what this woman had just described, those were already signs of a suspected invasion. But judging from the demon's habit of eating human brains after possessing someone, it probably was not very powerful.
Jennifer spread her legs and sat on Li Dan's lap, her red lips breathing sweetly against him. "Of course, darling. But in exchange, shouldn't you show me around your family's castle?"
"Sure." Li Dan saw it as a transaction. Contained items were very important to him.
Jennifer, however, took it as a sign that Li Dan had accepted her. Before he could react, her red lips had already sealed over his thin ones.

Jennifer laughed at his response. She liked Li Dan's serious little expression. "You obviously like it, so what's with that expression, darling?"
Li Dan said nothing. He would not let a woman get the better of him.
Still pretending! Jennifer's cheeks were flushed. She felt it too, but she hid it well.
Li Dan patted Jennifer, signaling for her to get down.
"All right, get down if you're done. Let's go check out your house first."
He was more interested in the demon possessing Jennifer now.
"There's no rush to visit my house. Let me have my fill first." Jennifer was clearly somewhat greedy. She slightly raised her head, wrapped her arms around Li Dan's neck, and demanded another passionate kiss.
Although Jennifer had quite a reputation in Round Clam Town, Li Dan really was her first man. Her goal had always been clear: find a man who was rich, strong, and handsome.
To put it plainly, she admired strength. Everything else had to take a back seat.
There were not many people at school who met those requirements.
Outside school, most of them were rich businessmen who wanted to keep her as a mistress.
