The subway terminus.

Li Dan ignored the three staff members. Before they could say more than a few words, a blonde woman stepped out of the carriage.

Her name was Kitty, and she was still wearing the gown she had worn to a fashion industry gathering. Her high heels clicked against the concrete.

Her schedule had been packed that night. After the fashion event, she had planned to head straight to another party, but she had spent half an hour trying to hail a taxi by the roadside without any luck.

The late-autumn night carried a biting chill, and the cold wind whipped fallen leaves against her face. Unable to stand it any longer, she had rushed into a nearby subway station and just managed to catch the last train.

In fact, before entering the station, she had already been so sleepy she could barely keep her eyes open. She had almost fallen asleep leaning against an advertising board on the platform.

A strange sound had jolted her awake.

The sound had made her heart pound for no reason she could explain. Instinctively, she had hurried into the carriage, but the overwhelming drowsiness had still gotten the better of her. She had fallen fast asleep as soon as she found a seat, only waking when the train's momentum jolted her as it reached the terminus.

Her gaze swept across the platform, finally settling on Li Dan before quickly shifting away to the three staff members. A barely perceptible urgency crept into her voice. "Excuse me, are there any other exits here? I can't get a taxi."

Li Dan still did not look up. His fingers moved deftly across his phone screen as he logged into the Horror Forum.
