The air in the passageway seemed to have frozen solid.
The stench of blood mingled with the pungent smell of acidic corrosion, pressing down so heavily that it was hard to breathe.
The three staff members sat collapsed in the pooled water. Blood still gushed from the young man's shoulder wound; his face was as white as paper, and his trembling lips could not form a complete sentence.
The middle-aged staff member's hand holding the baton hung limply at his side. The wound on his arm burned with pain, but that sensation had long since been washed away by the sight before him.
He opened his mouth, but only hoarse, rasping sounds came from his throat. His mind was blank, and he did not even have the strength to struggle to his feet.
The other staff member was completely terrified, his eyes unfocused and his body shaking uncontrollably like a sieve.
Just then, a slender figure slowly walked into the maintenance passage.
Li Dan put away his phone, his face still expressionless, as if everything that had just happened amounted to nothing more than crushing a few ants.
His gaze swept across the four people sprawled on the ground, then fell on the Aliens and the parasitized mutants. He snapped his fingers casually.
The Aliens that received the command immediately sprang into action. Two of them lifted the unconscious mutant, while the others used their claws to clear away the blood and corrosion marks on the ground. Their movements were clean and efficient, without the slightest delay.
After completing the parasitization, the Facehugger's body rapidly shriveled and fell from the mutant's face. An Alien curled it up with its long tail and swallowed it in an instant, leaving no trace behind.
The entire process was so fast it was dazzling.
