Bronksky slumped to the ground, with no strength left to get back up.
He lowered his head, gazing at the Great Axe that had somehow appeared in Banner's hands. His heart sank even further.
Banner had already won without even needing the battle-axe bestowed on him by the god.
His own confidence had been nothing but a joke.
"Boss, what are you going to do? Kill me for usurping your position?"
Bronksky's voice was low and hoarse. He slowly raised his head and looked at Banner, unwilling to accept defeat.
"Usurping my position? You think far too highly of yourself. Your mindless antics can't shake my standing. I haven't even tried, and you've already fallen."
That contemptuous look once again stoked Bronksky's anger. He struggled to get up and fight Banner for another three hundred rounds, but the moment he moved, a foot came down on him, forcing him back to the ground.
"Still want to move? With your pathetic strength, struggling is pointless."
Banner's voice was calm and firm. He had no intention of hurting Bronksky any further; he simply pressed down lightly with one foot as a warning.
"I lost. I admit it. I'll serve you loyally from now on, Boss. Just let me off this once."
Bronksky finally gave up resisting completely. He closed his eyes, let out a long breath, and said something he didn't even believe himself.
Since Banner hadn't killed him outright, he probably wasn't going to kill him at all.
Banner grinned. Even a dog wouldn't believe that Bronksky would serve him loyally.
