International Special Investigation Department, branch office.

"I won't waste time on unnecessary talk. Read the files. Since a federal official was also killed this time, the Golden Oak Kingdom has agreed to let our department assist with the investigation. We'll share intelligence and work together to make sure that criminal is captured and brought to justice!"

At the lectern, Lucius's immediate superior spoke so forcefully that spittle flew. He tugged open his collar, revealing a flushed neck, and looked frantic and impatient.

Lucius merely pursed his lips, took a file, and opened it.

"So young..."

That was his first impression of the suspect's photograph. "Sigel, was it? And he's a university student, too. What a shame... He had such a bright future ahead of him..."

He kept reading. "The case started because Senator Matt bought his parents' factory and trapped them in a contract that saddled them with enormous debts? They killed themselves, and the boy took revenge... A pretty standard story!"

"Exactly!"

The colleague beside Lucius curled his lip. "The only unusual thing is Sigel's strength!"

"True!"

Lucius nodded. He knew how rich people were: which of them didn't hire a small army of bodyguards? And Matt was a particularly high-profile figure, so his security must have been tight.

There was no way Sigel had killed him with a kitchen knife and taken down all those innocent people, too.

"You'd better brace yourself. The photos farther in are a little... gruesome!"

His colleague added this with a gleeful tone.

"Yeah, right!"

Lucius chuckled. In his line of work, what kind of crime scene hadn't he seen?

He flipped through the file without concern, then froze. "This... was this really done by a person?"

The crime scene in the photograph was certainly bloody, but that wasn't the point.
