A few days later, Steel Lake City.
Inside a street-side café, Charles sat in a well-tailored suit and gold-rimmed glasses, leisurely reading the newspaper as he sipped his coffee. He had the air of a true member of high society, drawing plenty of curious glances.
"Boss!"
After he'd waited a while, a man in a black coat came over, excitement written across his face. "You're finally back among the living?"
"Actually, I'm not!"
Charles shook his head. "I... have other plans. I'm only here for a few days this time!"
Ever since they learned that the Main God Space had begun recruiting living Reincarnators directly, many teams of spirit Reincarnators had deliberately taken on one or two members.
After all, they needed them to bring back a lot of real-world news, and to take care of matters in the real world.
Because they had a head start in undertaking reincarnation missions, spirit Reincarnators held a huge advantage in the Main God Space. At first, the newcomers really had fallen into the predicament of being little more than their servants.
More importantly, even this lowly status didn't guarantee them enough opportunities. Reincarnators, especially spirit Reincarnators, were extremely careful about keeping their secrets.
Without a firm guarantee and trust, they would rather leave their families in the real world unattended for the time being than let even the slightest information slip.
The man sitting across from Charles was one such lucky fellow. He went by the nickname Gray Rat and had signed contracts with nearly all of Charles's teammates—the kind of binding contracts notarized by the Main God Space that could never be broken. Since then, he'd become their team's steward in the real world, quietly supporting and protecting their families and friends, and handling all the matters they couldn't conveniently appear
