They were already far from the main road. The area was covered in woods, with scarcely any farmland in sight.

"Big brother, are those Westerners really here?"

Zhang Guo wore leather armor, and the repeating firearm at her waist was ready to fire at a moment's notice. Her right hand gripped the hilt of her sword nervously.

After a bout of "friendly" conversation, Wu Ming had reluctantly agreed to help her complete the mission so she could pass her school assessment. In return, the young Zhang Guo would take care of all the paperwork he needed to borrow books.

In truth, Wu Ming was only giving the girl a hand because fate had brought them together.
