Background / History

The Sun Moon Empire emerged after the Sun Moon Continent collided with the Douluo Continent several thousand years earlier. Its Soul Tool technology reshaped the continent’s political and military landscape, but its earlier campaign against the original Douluo Three Kingdoms failed because it lacked elite Soul Master combatants. 8 37

Its long-running conflict with the Star Luo Empire centers on the mineral-rich Ming Dou Mountain Range, created by the continental collision more than four thousand years ago. Rare ores found there have driven repeated border warfare and made Star Luo’s Western Group Army acutely familiar with the empire’s Soul Tool advantage. 38

Centuries before the Heavenly Curtain’s revelations, the empire reformed its cultivation system around widespread medicinal assistance. Any person awakening with accompanying soul power could receive free medicine, enabling the state to produce large numbers of low- and mid-rank Soul Masters for Soul Tool use. 42

Projected Future

The Heavenly Curtain reveals Crown Prince Xu Tianran forming a secret alliance with the Holy Spirit Cult. The Cult would support his accession and any future unification war; in exchange, it would become the state religion, its leader would hold a hereditary Imperial Advisor position, and Evil Soul Masters would ultimately be legitimized as an orthodox lineage. 39 40

After the alliance is exposed, Xu Tianran launches a palace coup, removes the Third Prince, and secures control of the court with the Old Emperor’s tacit approval. 38 40 In the projected future, the Mingdu explosion kills the Old Emperor and Xu Guozhong, allowing Xu Tianran to take the throne; the empire then blames the disaster on the original Douluo Three Kingdoms to accelerate an arms race and mobilize public hatred. 41

The projected war begins with a successful three-front lightning campaign. The Sun Moon Empire captures large portions of the Heaven Dou Empire within days and later defeats its remaining coalition at Tianling City, occupying nearly all of its territory within three days and formally declaring it annihilated. 49 58

Military & Technology

Soul Tool Doctrine

The empire treats Soul Engineers as its most prestigious profession. Soul Power is primarily valued as the means to create and operate higher-level Soul Tools, rather than as an end in itself. 41

Its technological foundation is sufficiently advanced to support multi-front warfare, Soul Tool defensive positions around Mingdu, and massive military formations that traditional Soul Master forces struggle to counter directly. 48 49 60

Hall of Worship

Kong Deming, the Hall of Worship’s head, is the empire’s strongest Soul Tool Master, a Rank 94 Super Douluo, and the foremost Level Nine Soul Tool Master. He possesses one-quarter royal bloodline, remains loyal to the imperial family, and is regarded as a guardian and stabilizing pillar of the empire. 40

The empire’s mass-use of medicinal pills rapidly improves early- and mid-stage Soul Power, but damages foundations and limits long-term potential. 8 41

The empire is ruled by an imperial family whose current Old Emperor previously seized the throne through a coup. He favors practical advantage over ideology and is willing to employ Evil Soul Masters if they can strengthen the state. 40

Xu Tianran rises from Crown Prince to Regent as the Old Emperor’s health declines. He seeks to become a powerful and legitimate emperor while building support among the court, military, and Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy. 41 59 135

The empire’s citizens initially approve of cooperation with the Holy Spirit Cult because of its military gains, but public opinion turns sharply after the Heavenly Curtain reveals the Cult’s projected betrayal and the danger posed to Mingdu’s civilians. 52

Education and Talent Policy

• The Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy is a major institution whose students enthusiastically support Xu Tianran after witnessing the empire’s projected victories. 59
• Xu Tianran later decrees the establishment of the Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy to recruit Martial Soul geniuses. Tuition is free, scholarships are generous, and exceptional talents may receive hundred-thousand-year Soul Rings and Soul Bones. 149
