At the foot of the hill, four Lesser Demons were surrounding a young woman. One of them had grabbed her by the hair and was mercilessly dragging her toward the woods by the roadside.
The young woman struggled desperately. A large part of her skirt had been torn away, and her exposed calves were covered in scratches.
One of her shoes had fallen off, and her bare foot left bloody streaks across the gravel path.
A richly dressed young man stood three steps away with his arms crossed, his face full of impatience as one finger tapped rhythmically against his other palm.
What an ungrateful woman.
In Nezha's eyes, a faint layer of bluish-black mist hovered above the man's head. When his nostrils flared, two wisps of white smoke puffed out, curling and retracting in the air like a snake's tongue.
He was obviously a demon!
Nezha threw out the Universe Ring in his hand, and it shot through the air.
It grazed a lesser demon's ear and buried itself three inches deep in the tree trunk behind him.
"Stop!"
The Lesser Demons abruptly pulled back their hands and turned around in unison.
"Who?!"
Seizing the chance, the young woman struggled free with all her might, but she had barely taken half a step when she was yanked back. She fell hard to the ground and fainted.
Nezha dove down from midair. The Wind-Fire Wheels came to an abrupt stop just above the ground, their trailing flames scorching a black streak through the grass as the smell of burning spread.
The richly dressed young man turned his head as well, wanting to see who had dared to interrupt him after eating the heart of a bear and the gall of a leopard.
