Insults in Space
Seeing Chu Yunyi looking like that, Xia Tian was so furious his lungs nearly burst.
Bang.
The alveoli that had just grown burst open. In space, it remained utterly silent.
Only through bone conduction could Xia Tian hear the sound.
"I'll f***ing f*** you, you motherf***er..." Xia Tian's lips moved, but not a sound came out.
Chu Yunyi could tell what Xia Tian was cursing.
But it didn't matter.
As long as he didn't use NO.6 [Words of All Spirits] on Xia Tian, Xia Tian really couldn't hear him.
But this ability could still be used one way.
In other words,
Chu Yunyi could make Xia Tian hear his voice without hearing Xia Tian's in return.
In short: mute.
And so,
Chu Yunyi grinned and sent his thoughts across to the other side. "Dumbass, weren't you going to kill me?"
"Hey, getting mad, are you?"
Those two sentences inexplicably appeared in Xia Tian's mind. His face changed instantly, and he opened his mouth to curse again!
Chu Yunyi wasn't about to back down, either. With just a few simple words, he could bring out Xia Tian's foulest language.
Normally speaking,
in the harsh environment of outer space, no human could survive for even one more second.
But
Xia Tian and Chu Yunyi were actually hurling insults at each other from a distance. It was quite a sight.
As they cursed at each other,
Xia Tian slowly drifted past the space station's rigid solar panels, moving another step farther from Blue Star civilization.
Looking around,
Xia Tian only then realized that he seemed to be getting farther and farther from Blue Star.
At once,
he stopped cursing and looked around.
All he could see was Blue Star receding into the distance, along with the drifting space station.
"Crap."
"Where the hell did this thing bring me?"
"Am I even still in the country?!" Xia Tian stared wide-eyed, utterly stunned.
He'd known Chu Yunyi had a Teleportation Gate.
He hadn't known that thing could send him straight into outer space!
Turning around,
Xia Tian saw Chu Yunyi smiling as if everything were under his control, and immediately wanted to beg for mercy.
But the instant that thought arose,
one of the seven colors in his eyes began to fade.
Pride.
If he humbled himself, his pride would disappear, too.
And without the willpower of the Pride Virus, Xia Tian wouldn't be able to survive the vacuum of outer space at over a hundred degrees below zero, even with the support of the other six viruses.
The power of pride was the only thing he could rely on.
If he didn't even believe in himself, death was his only option!
Thinking of that,
Xia Tian's resolve surged, and his hatred for Chu Yunyi soared to the heavens.
"You deserve to die!!!" Xia Tian roared inwardly. Light swirled over his body, which had already recovered more than halfway.
Looking at Chu Yunyi in the distance,
Xia Tian had already planned everything out in his mind.
"That's right."
"I've got this, I've got this, I've got this, I've got this!"
"As long as the power of pride has my back, I can wear him down!"
"Then I'll evolve some wings and fly back to Blue Star!"
"And if that doesn't work..."
"Once my Seven Deadly Sins subordinates take over the world, I'll have them send a spacecraft to pick me up!"
As his thoughts raced, Xia Tian's confidence had already solidified.
And as he felt his body recovering more and more, he felt strength coursing through him. He couldn't feel even the slightest bit of cold.
He looked at Chu Yunyi, his eyes full of contempt.
"Pathetic little Chu Yunyi. How laughable."
"Once I've fully recovered and evolved the ability to travel through space..."
"Then..."
"You can't make any progress in space. You'll be mine for the taking, caught like a turtle in a jar. How could I possibly lose?!"
"Hahahahahaha!"
As Xia Tian thought this, the corners of his mouth stretched involuntarily back toward his ears. His whole face looked terrifying.
Seeing this, Chu Yunyi's mouth twitched twice.
What was this guy doing...?
Why had he suddenly started cheering himself on?
Still,
Chu Yunyi hadn't activated NO.6 [Words of All Spirits], so he had no idea what Xia Tian was thinking.
But even if he did know, it wouldn't matter.
He was just about to take a deep breath
when he realized there was no oxygen in space, so Chu Yunyi had to give up.
Come to think of it, this felt much like being carried along by a tumor-mutant—either way, he couldn't breathe.
Right now,
Chu Yunyi bent his knees slightly, his whole body hanging vertically toward Xia Tian.
Then
Chu Yunyi reached out and beckoned!
NO.15 [Portable Space]!
A spatial entrance slowly appeared.
But this time, the entrance led straight to a wall inside the [Portable Space]!
In an instant,
Chu Yunyi had something to push off against. He kicked with both legs and shot forward like a meteor!
Without a sound,
he arrived in front of Xia Tian. But he hadn't controlled his force properly and flew right past him.
His blade swept out, slicing away most of Xia Tian's body.
Seeing this,
terror filled Xia Tian's face. One slash—just one slash—had yanked him out of his fantasies and back to reality.
Chu Yunyi flew past Xia Tian
and slammed into the truss of the space station.
Thump...
A dull sound reverberated into the station's interior.
The sound traveled into the sleeping quarters directly opposite.
Inside the space station.
There were ten astronauts in all, each an outstanding representative of their country.
At that moment,
it happened to be the shift of one Dragon Country astronaut, one French astronaut, and one Russian astronaut.
"Hey, Qiao, go check the monitors. It's the final year, so let's make sure nothing goes wrong!"
"Oh, Fa, is that really necessary? Afjeyev, this space station isn't made of paper."
"Li's right. We have to check. In this hellish environment, even a pebble hits like a bullet!"
The astronauts jostled one another, sending the Frenchman whose full name was Avent C. Qaradis, shortened to Qiao, over to take a look.
But before Qiao could get there, he glanced into a nearby compartment and immediately started shouting in alarm!
"Oh, Fa! Fa! F***! Get over here!"
Hearing the Frenchman's cries,
Li Ran and Afjeyev quickly floated over to see what Qiao was making such a fuss about.
But the sight that greeted them left them speechless.
From where they were,
to the lower left, half a person floated with his body facing upward. His organs and a section of his spine were clearly visible.
But what was astonishing was that the guy was still moving, and even talking!
Li Ran took a closer look.
The longer he looked, the more certain he became that the guy was speaking Mandarin.
"Fa! Li! That's a Dragon descendant, right? Hurry and translate what he's saying!" Qiao shouted excitedly.
It was so incredible that, if Li and Afjeyev hadn't seen it too, Qiao might have thought he'd been under too much pressure from spending so long in that environment and was hallucinating.
Li Ran was at a loss.
He explained briefly, "Qiao, he's from Dragon Country, not a Dragon descendant! Dragon descendants are Dragonborn!"
"Also, the East isn't just Dragon Country. There are also Island Nation and Goryeo."
"Oh, then why does Dragon Country insist on letting them be independent? Why not unify them?" Qiao asked in surprise.
"Damn..." Li Ran wanted to explain, but decided against it.
He shook his head.
Li Ran turned his attention to space.
Li Ran stared unblinkingly at the half-person in his field of vision.
Watching his mouth move, he sounded out the words one by one.
Only then did Li Ran realize:
"He..."
"Is he f***ing cursing?!" Li Ran's mouth hung open as he floated there, completely stunned.
