Background / History
Yun Ye arrived in the Tang Dynasty Brick world as a transmigrator. His striking resemblance to a Yun Clan ancestor from the Zhenguan era led Old Madam Yun to recognize him as her grandson, making him the sole male heir of the Yun Clan of Lantian. Though he questioned whether his fate was being shaped by an unseen hand, the confirmation that his life followed a predetermined story was difficult for him to accept. 14
To explain his extraordinary abilities, Yun Ye constructed the identity of a disciple of the immortal-like Xiaoyaozi and promoted the idea of White Jade City. What began as a fabricated title gradually became a real organization supported by the chat group. 25 205 He used his early magic to heal Old Madam Yun's hidden ailments, an event that convinced her he possessed Immortal methods and drew Sun Simiao into his confidence. 97 100
After gaining power, Yun Ye's bearing changed noticeably. Veteran generals such as Li Jing, Cheng Yaojin, and Niu Jinda became wary of his gaze and no longer treated him as an ordinary junior. 43 Despite this influence, he chose to remain discreet in Chang'an, prioritizing the safety of the vulnerable members of Yun Mansion over any attempt to seize political power. 95
Appearance
Yun Ye is a tall, handsome young man whose clothing changes with the setting, from a green robe in Great Tang to white robes when presenting himself as a peerless cultivator. 95 205 375
- Water ribbons may coil around his body when he flies.
- His eyes emit a blue glow while using mana. 77
- His white-robed martial appearance is compared to that of a refined young master amid chaos. 375
- His physical resilience is sufficient that ordinary scissors cannot cut even a strand of his hair. 451
Personality
Yun Ye is affectionate toward his adopted family and protective of Yun Mansion. He treats all eight young women of the household as his sisters regardless of bloodline or social standing, rejecting the restrictive distinctions favored by older relatives. 97 His attachment extends to Wangcai, whom he wants to cultivate so the horse can remain with him indefinitely. 97 98
Although he maintains the public fiction of Xiaoyaozi and White Jade City, Yun Ye is uneasy about building his identity on lies. His epiphany comes when he recognizes that the support he has received from Lin Yu and the chat group has become a genuine part of his life. 205
He is politically cautious rather than revolutionary. Yun Ye refuses to overturn Li Shimin's rule despite having the power and backing to do so, instead pursuing a gradual spiritual-energy resurgence intended to improve food security and reduce chaos for ordinary people. 95 448 452 455
