Chapter 247: Anomalies and Anomalies
"Wait, this isn't right, is it?!"
"What is going on?!"
As they stared at the enormous spatial rift stretching across the sky before them, every experienced wizard present, Benjamin included, wore an expression of utter bewilderment.
Something was wrong!
Terribly wrong!
Because this string of events did not fit the normal course of a planar war as they knew it!
By convention, while crossing the Chaotic Void aboard the "Ship Plane," Dionysius Spencer, the Level Seven Grand Wizard serving as Commander of this planar war, should have taken the time to issue everyone the most basic information about the target plane.
Even if, due to limitations in intelligence-gathering methods, that basic information was often extremely sparse.
For a dangerous planar war that came with enormous casualties every time, however, such information was still immensely important!
At the very least, it allowed the wizards to make the most basic preparations when facing completely unfamiliar enemies, instead of being caught utterly off guard.
But now—what was this situation?
Why had Wizard Dionysius Spencer opened a spatial passage to the target plane so abruptly, without providing any useful information at all?
Beyond that, there was another, even stranger question: why was the plane on the other side so quiet?!
The fundamental composition of the Wizard World differed in many ways from the purely material world of Benjamin's previous life, including the existence of certain special things.
In the scientific understanding of Benjamin's previous life, the concepts of "space" and "time" did not actually "exist."
At their core, these two concepts were merely "standards of measurement" created by intelligent life to measure the states of motion of fundamental particles in the universe.
They were merely "concepts" in themselves, without any corresponding objective entities.
But in the Wizard World, these
