To any onlookers, the light bolt seemed to pass through the place where the beast stood like a phantom, as though it had caused no damage at all.
But from Benjamin's position, a massive hole at least a meter in diameter had appeared through the beast's body, front to back. He could even see the scenery behind it through the opening.
The reason no blood sprayed from the enormous wound was that the edges had already been carbonized into a blackened shell.
This was because the energy bolt, flying at extreme speed, carried terrifying heat that cauterized the wound as it pierced through.
