The original Samsara Plane had not been born as a war fortress like a meat grinder.

It had once given rise to a unique civilization—a species that had accidentally kindled the spark of intelligence among ignorant insects.

They were resilient, united, and possessed astonishing powers of learning and evolution.

Intelligence brought technology, and technology drove development.

They emerged from their underground nests onto the surface, built city-states, explored the mysteries of the stars, and eventually turned their gaze beyond the plane, toward the vast unknown the wizards called the "Endless Chaotic Void."

The first formation of an Expeditionary Force, the first hopeful and apprehensive attempt to leave the cradle that had birthed them and venture into the sea of stars... this should have been a civilization's glorious coming-of-age ceremony.

Then, disaster descended without warning.

That day, the Endless Void, which had once followed a certain chaotic rhythm, abruptly began to boil.

Terrifying energy currents, matter storms, spatial folds, and even time ripples—all beyond the limits of that civilization's understanding—seemed to have been stirred by an invisible giant hand, becoming a tide of destruction that swept toward them.

The Expeditionary Force fleet had only just passed through the Plane Barrier and had not yet begun its voyage. Like candle flames in a gale, they were snuffed out in an instant, leaving not even wreckage behind.
