Chapter 468: Entry and Shootdown

Surging elemental energy dyed the entire sky into a chaotic yet magnificent ocean of color.

Benjamin joined the ranks of wizards casting spells as well.

With his right hand, he traced a circle before his chest. A faint gleam followed his fingertips as elemental power condensed in the air under the control of his spiritual force, forming a complex three-dimensional structure. Then it collapsed inward, becoming a transparent suit of armor as thin as a cicada's wing, fitted tightly against his skin.

[Return to Void Armor], hand-cast version.

Immediately afterward, the fingers of his left hand flicked repeatedly. Seven pre-inscribed rune crystals flew from his sleeve, burst open in midair, and transformed into seven layers of different shields, nested one around another outside the Return to Void Armor.

Finally, he murmured several clipped syllables, casting three enhancement spells upon himself: "Accelerated Thought," "Enhanced Dynamic Vision," and "Pain Numbing."

He completed all this in only two seconds.

The surrounding wizards had also finished their preparations at almost the exact same time.

As far as the eye could see, the entire plain had become a river of stars made up of a million moving lights. Every point of light represented a fully armed war wizard.

At that moment...

High in the sky, space twisted slightly.

Two figures appeared out of thin air.

On the left stood a human man who looked to be around forty. His features were ancient and unadorned, his gaze gentle. He wore a simple linen robe and leaned on a wooden staff that looked as though he had casually snapped it from a tree.

Yet the moment he appeared, the elemental tides of the entire Ship Plane calmed, as if paying respect to an existence of a higher order.
