Chapter 487: More Enemies
The two Noren Workshop wizards stood stunned for a moment. Only when Benjamin's words, "You can retreat now," echoed through the air did they snap out of it.
"Th-thank you, sir, for saving our lives!"
The female wizard recovered first. She bowed respectfully to Benjamin, only then feeling the agonizing pain surging through her mind.
To maintain the barrier against the Tower of Silence wizard's frenzied assault, fine cracks had already appeared in her Spirit Sea.
The male wizard, who had completely transformed into a tentacled monster, also struggled to make a bowing gesture as he spoke with difficulty.
"Thank you... sir... for your help..."
His voice was exceedingly weak. He was clearly on the brink of death.
Benjamin merely nodded calmly and said nothing.
The two wizards exchanged a glance, understanding flashing through both their eyes.
In the Wizard World, there was no such thing as help without cause.
Equivalent exchange was a principle engraved deep into every wizard's soul.
Without hesitation, the female wizard raised her right hand, pressed her index finger to her temple, and closed her eyes in concentration.
A pale-blue stream of data composed of countless runes flowed from her fingertip, condensing in the air into a fist-sized crystal.
"This is the Multi-Layer Barrier Nesting Optimization Algorithm that I specialize in. With limited spiritual power, it can simultaneously construct and coordinate up to seven barriers of different attributes."
She pushed the crystal toward Benjamin, her tone respectful.
"Although it is only a Level 5 technique, it is highly practical for positional defense and small-scale encounters."
The male wizard also forced himself to raise a tentacle and condensed a dark-red spiritual power crystal.
"Mine is... the Water Elemental Shaping and Energy Compression Technique..." He had to gasp for breath after every word.
