Days passed one by one.
Yet over the next several decades, Benjamin did not immediately make a move on the Nest.
In one corner of the laboratory stood a testing apparatus Benjamin had built himself.
At the heart of the apparatus was a transparent sealed chamber, within which an ordinary ore floated.
Benjamin activated the device. The light around the ore began to distort, then it started weathering and disintegrating at a speed visible to the naked eye, finally turning into a pile of powder.
That was the effect of time acceleration.
He replaced it with another piece of ore and activated the reverse program.
This time, a strange sense of solidity appeared on the ore's surface, as though it had been frozen in time. No matter how the outside world changed, it remained utterly motionless. Benjamin carefully observed the data from every test, repeatedly adjusted the parameters, and recorded the results.
That was right. Rather than immediately beginning the modifications, he had instead turned to studying knowledge related to time.
Strictly speaking, it was the batch of time-related knowledge he had obtained from the Samsara Plane years ago.
In the library section of the core laboratory, Benjamin sat cross-legged, surrounded by more than a dozen floating Recording Crystals.
These crystals were somewhat old. Their surface luster could not compare to newly made ones, but the content stored within them absorbed Benjamin time and again.
He raised a hand, and one crystal slowly drifted before him.
His spiritual power entered it, revealing a research record from years ago: several high-ranking wizards sat around an enormous round table. Complex mathematical models floated above its surface as they discussed the operating principles of the Reincarnation Machine.
As Benjamin listened to the recording, a faint, wistful smile touched his lips.
Back when he
