"What do you think it is?"
Xia Hongmian blew out a breath and kicked a loose stone aside.
"No idea!"
The tunnel was narrow and cramped, like a winding sheep path. The Torch's light couldn't reach very far, illuminating only seven or eight meters around them in a dim yellow glow. Beyond that lay nothing but absolute darkness.
Being inside the tunnel weighed heavily on the mind.
Anyone with claustrophobia could easily be scared to death.
"Have you noticed your skin getting sticky?"
Xia Hongmian asked in return.
"Hm?"
Lin Baici was bundled up tightly and even wore goggles, leaving almost no skin exposed.
He had felt a little damp, but had assumed it was sweat.
"As time passes, our skin will melt, followed by our flesh and bones. In twelve hours at most, we'll be reduced to a puddle of rotten flesh!"
Xia Hongmian explained the Rule Pollution they were facing.
"So we're basically inside a monster's stomach?"
Lin Baici's eyes widened as he carefully studied the walls around them.
"Not a monster. A god!"
Xia Hongmian swung the golden torch. "If there were no light, and you could see in the dark, you'd notice the stone walls look just like stomach lining. Every now and then, they even move slightly!"
"That's the First God digesting us!"
Xia Hongmian revealed a shocking secret.
Lin Baici frowned. The thought that what was on his body wasn't sweat but digestive juices made him feel a little sick.
"Ordinary people who enter here would immediately feel dizzy and weak. Within fifteen minutes at most, they'd visibly melt into a puddle!"
Xia Hongmian smiled. "Of course, ordinary people wouldn't make it this far!"
"God Hunters fare a little better. How long it takes them to be digested depends
