The God Aunt!

If it weren't absolutely necessary, Mink Aunt didn't want to kill Agent Kim. She was a God Ruins creature who had developed self-awareness, and in the Food Chain, she was subordinate to the gods.

They were all part of the same ecosystem.

There were so few of their kind on this unfamiliar Blue Star that Mink Aunt and the others wanted to spare anyone they could.

If Agent Kim had fallen for an ordinary human, Mink Aunt wouldn't have cared in the slightest. She might even have taken a few photos and posted them on social media, gloating after she saw him mutate from her contamination. But Lin Baici was different.

"What exactly is going on with him?"

Mink Aunt wanted to see for herself, with these very eyes.

"You're a God Hunter. You might not come back from your next expedition into the God Ruins. Why think so much about everything?"

Nangong Shu tried to console him. "Just enjoy each day as it comes!"

Lin Baici smiled without committing himself. He was about to speak when his brow furrowed.

His stomach growled. A powerful hunger swept over him like a tsunami, making his stomach cramp. His intestines must have been knotted up.

For a moment, the hunger was so intense that he even wanted to devour Nangong Shu alive.

"What's wrong?"

Nangong Shu noticed the change in Lin Baici's expression.

"Something's happened!"

Lin Baici heard footsteps. He was sure they didn't belong to Xia Hongyao or any of the others.

"Someone unfamiliar is here!"

Nangong Shu noticed it too. She hadn't taken off her clothes earlier, since she was wearing a qipao. Lin Baici, on the other hand, hurriedly got dressed and draped the Kasaya over his shoulders.
