Sizzle! Sizzle!
The failing energy-saving light flickered constantly, making the dim, quiet underground parking garage even more terrifying. It could have been a perfect location for a horror movie.
A domestically made SUV sat quietly in a corner.
"Cough, cough!"
A man in a trench coat sat in the driver's seat, coughing every few seconds. Sometimes it got so bad he coughed for over a minute, looking as if he were about to die of some illness.
Whoosh!
A shadow appeared and disappeared among the parked cars, using them as cover before quickly darting onto the SUV.
"Xinyue is dead!"
The shadow's voice held a trace of lingering terror. "That God was far too strong. I used to think I stood at the peak of human strength. Now that seems downright laughable!"
The shadow was a woman, wearing military boots, camouflage pants, a black fitted tank top, and a long trench coat.
Now the coat was tattered and smeared with dirt and blood, leaving her looking thoroughly disheveled.
"Cough, cough!"
Jing Wubing had been about to make a few sarcastic remarks to Red Moon Thunderclap. The Goryeo woman had thought her own strength exceptional and looked down on Nine Provinces' God Hunters, so Jing Wubing had been delighted to see her humbled. But Red Moon Thunderclap's words, "Xinyue is dead," left him dumbfounded.
"How is that possible?"
Xinyue was the vice-leader of Darkness Eclipse, second in strength only to the group's leader.
Though he was called Xinyue, he was actually an old man who had lived for thirty years. When the first meteor carrying God's Remains fell to Earth and gave rise to the God Ruins, he had been among the first to enter and explore them—and one of the few to make it back out alive.
And now...
Xinyue
