The next day, the sky was still clear.
A day had already passed since Groudon woke up.
With it around, there was no way the sky could be anything but clear.
If dark clouds really appeared, that would be truly strange.
After taking a short nap, Groudon was full of energy and could not wait to begin its special training.
Training Aerial Ace!
Of course, without a Z-Crystal right now, it was simply training Aerial Ace rather than using Aerial Ace as a foundation to train a Flying-type Z-Move.
Without a Z-Crystal, the faint flying power Groudon gained from using Aerial Ace made it fly like a newly hatched chick, wobbling unsteadily through the air.
One careless mistake, and it would fall from the sky.
But this was already far better than before, when it could not use Aerial Ace to fly at all.
After experiencing several Flying-type Z-Moves before, Groudon had already grasped a small portion of the mysteries of flying power.
Its current goal was to maintain steady flight with Aerial Ace even without a Z-Crystal!
This counted as training too. Although it could not reach the speed or agility of a Z-Move, laying a solid foundation now would allow it to fly even faster with a Flying-type Z-Move once it used a Z-Crystal later.
Building foundations! Groudon understood that well.
"Roar!!!!"
Early in the morning, above the sea outside Steven Stone's Sea View Villa, a Groudon flew wobbly through the air with Precipice Blades in hand.
Opposite it, a Dragonite wore a bitter expression as it battled Groudon, looking utterly unwilling...
"Bwoo!!"
Although Groudon held back during their sparring, and rarely had a chance to hit Dragonite...
And although battling a Legendary Pokémon brought pressure that could temper Dragonite's heart...
Still!
Dragonite's heart ached a little.
