G2 first appears as Fnatic’s second-round opponent and is regarded as one of the event’s most dangerous teams. It initially overwhelms Fnatic through strong utility and aim, building a 7–1 lead. Fnatic’s decision to contest early map control, combined with Aether’s triple kill and aggressive AWP pushes, breaks G2’s rhythm and leads to a 16–12 loss. 40 41 43

Rivalry with Vitality

Following Aether’s transfer to Vitality, G2 repeatedly faces a more threatening version of the team. Vitality’s dual-AWP setup with Aether and ZywOo limits G2’s openings, while Aether’s flanks, smoke kills, and pistol-round impact damage G2’s morale. 72 73 75

At BLAST Lisbon, G2 loses to Vitality in both the group stage and semifinals. Its 0–2 semifinal defeat ends with NiKo posting a 12–20 score on Inferno, while Aleksib fears he may soon be benched. 75 81
