Mist shrouded the vast sea, yin winds howled, and endless storms loomed over the surface. Deep within the chaotic, deafening eye of the storm, a black solitary island lay quietly hidden.
Upon that black island, an enormous black flood dragon coiled itself, its head and tail nearly touching. Countless scales across its body had shattered, blood still flowing from the wounds. Half of one horn atop its head had broken off, and there was a blade wound at the corner of its eye, the flesh yet to heal.
Lightning flashed through the storm from time to time, bolts crashing down and dancing between its scales, turning into energy that nourished its flesh.
The Black Flood Dragon drew in the spiritual energy of heaven and earth through its mouth and nose, guiding the lightning energy through its body. The energy lodged within its wounds was slowly refined away, and the wounds were visibly healing. Though slowly, they were healing.
The Black Flood Dragon let out a low dragon's roar, drawing down more lightning from the storm. Bolt after bolt slammed into its scales, and in an instant, its body was covered in electricity. Every scale seemed like a battery, ravenously devouring the lightning.
The energies entrenched in its wounds were forced from its body by the powerful lightning energy, flowing out with its blood. Once the last trace of energy had been expelled, the wounds across the Black Flood Dragon's body rapidly healed.
Lightning surged across the Black Flood Dragon's body as it rapidly shrank, transforming back into human form.
The Black Flood Dragon spat out a mouthful of blood. When it struck the ground, black smoke rose from it. He slowly opened his eyes, clenched his fist, then gradually relaxed it. Helplessness filled his gaze. "Damn it. I suffered far
